For example, I would like to have a parent group 'Australia' that contains the child groups 'Sydney' and 'Tasmania'. These child groups would then have their own teams, i.e, for Tasmania, there would be the Hobart Team and the Launceston Team.

When I access a report, I would like to be able to select 'Australia' and see that all child groups and their teams are automatically selected. When I run the report, I should be able to see the data:

Rolled up to the parent Group level or,
Broken down to the child Groups or,
Broken down to the child groups and their teams or,
Broken down to the teams, etc
